    Message for U.S. Citizens: Voting in 2020 U.S. Elections | U.S. Embassy &  Consulates in Indonesia

    Main Dates:

    The last day to register to vote is Monday, Oct. 5.

    Early voting begins Tuesday, Oct. 13 and ends Friday, Oct. 30. Gov. Greg Abbott extended the early voting period due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    If you are voting by mail, your APPLICATION to vote by mail must be received (not postmarked) by Friday, Oct. 23.

    8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 13-17; Oct. 19-23;

    7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 17; Oct 24; Oct. 26-30

    Noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 18 and Oct. 25 (Nueces County Courthouse only, all other locations closed)

    Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

    Vote By Mail

    The state of Texas only allows registered voters to cast a mail-in ballot in certain circumstances. To be able to vote by mail in Texas you must meet one of the below requirements:

    • be 65 years or older
    • be disabled
    • be out of the county on Election Day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance
    • be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible

    then mail it to the election administrator in your county.
